The State Board of Education (SBE) is the rule and policy-making body for Tennessee's Pre-K-12 public education system. Its work touches all facets of education, from accountability and evaluation to standards and teacher education. By setting goals and policy priorities, the State Board provides a framework for stakeholders to assess whether state policies position Tennessee's schools to prepare students for postsecondary success. 

The Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE) works to support and accelerate student achievement so that all Tennessee students are prepared for success after high school.
