The State Collaborative on Reforming Education (SCORE) works to catalyze transformative change in Tennessee education so that all students can achieve success. Striving to be a durable partner and trusted advisor on Tennessee education, SCORE is focused on advancing change for students from kindergarten to career through policy and practice — and taking it to scale. An independent, nonprofit and nonpartisan advocacy organization, SCORE was founded in 2009 by Sen. Bill Frist, M.D., former U.S. Senate Majority Leader. 

The State Board of Education (SBE) is the rule and policy-making body for Tennessee's Pre-K-12 public education system. Its work touches all facets of education, from accountability and evaluation to standards and teacher education. By setting goals and policy priorities, the State Board provides a framework for stakeholders to assess whether state policies position Tennessee's schools to prepare students for postsecondary success. 

The Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE) works to support and accelerate student achievement so that all Tennessee students are prepared for success after high school. As a dedicated partner in strengthening education statewide, the department provides leadership, resources, and guidance to districts and schools to ensure that every student has access to a high-quality education.
